Pure organic living is something I long for. I post simple ways to live organic and heal with what grows. Join me in the journey!

no make-up/underwear in trees

4 days no make-up, no toilet, no computer, no shower….and yet, it was perfect. Camping, not a lot to say besides I love it…all of it…even the back in the woods make a stump your toilet kind.  Something about the simplicity of it all that refreshes me like no spa day could.

[this would drive me crazy at home, here, it blessed me...little man pants/undies]

[the sweet little sisters, even the little crawler survived 4 days of being held]

[getting wild like a bear she tried to eat his head, clearly he was enjoying this...boys?! :) ]

[ I tried to get a serene photo of him looking at the river, he saw me w/camera & serene was not gonna happen! ]

So a few pics of the babes, of course not of the husb & me cause that would be down right mean to do that to you [4 days, no makeup/shower/hair help, trust me the grizzlies were scared of me at that point]! xx

a winner!

Congrats to Donna Autrey!

Jill, from Norwex will send you out your cloths & detergent, just email me your address.
The 10% off of any product is still open for anyone, just put PM in front of your name.

Happy Cleaning!

dump dip?!

I hate the name, but oh my it’s some of the best salsa style dip I’ve ever made!  I know I post on dips/salsa’s all the time, what can I say I’m a lush for them.  Dump dip pretty much sums up this recipe, there are no rules, you just dump what sounds good in a bowl, mix and enjoy.  I used grape tomatoes, mango, corn, avocado, cilatra, red onion and s+p.  So, here is to the most uncomplicated recipe known, have fun, be creative and of course use organic ingredients. Your body and taste buds will thank you.

sleek & sassy

So enjoying this Marquis Estate by Cherry Creek.  It’s almost on the verge of being too cold feeling with it’s overall structure, but a few rooms & accesories make it worth the slight cold feel.

Pretty amazing, yes? I’d definitively need a maid & for sure the kids would need to live in the closet, they are way too messy for this abode :) Happy Monday everyone, were finally home after a 7 day hiatus…business trip, lakeside cabin & friends time, spa day, beach time…it was awesome, but there is no place like home.  One last get-away for the summer,  family camping trip, it’s truly my favorite vacation of the year.

papers that bloom flowers

Have you yet heard of “plantable paper”?  I just discovered it!  You can get your wedding invites planted on this paper and after your wedding your guest can plant your invite and it will bloom flowers, or your baby announcement, or even a thank you card.  I think it’s a brilliant idea!

[this thank you from Ruff House Art is too cute & yes, it will bloom if planted]

[all those little specks are seeds, so cute...via here]

Oh & if you dare,  here is a DIY to make your own plantable paper.  Don’t worry it’s super easy!

a must see movie

I hadn’t heard about this movie until a few days ago, but it’s a great documentary with a lot of  “eye opening” moments.  It’s a casually produced father/son duo, but the content is good.  If you watched Food Inc. and liked it, you’ll appreciate this one as well.  I love people who confront culture, big business, & pharmaceutical industries with real scientific truth, hard facts and just plain common sense.  Happy watching, I’d love to know what you think about it….also any other documentaries that you’ve seen that have rocked your world, post them so I can check them out!

throwing away all my cleaners

So, I’ve been testing this product for about 3 months, thinking there is no way it can be this good.  I’m talking about a few cloths called Norwex.  Some friends had been talking about them, then my mom got some and was freaking out about them.  If my mom, the cleanest person I know, thought they were a miracle then of course I had to try them!  I’ll keep this short, kinda, & still try to give you the info.  I used 2 rags and cleaned my whole house including mirrors & stainless w/out any cleaners.  I know it seems like, what?!  I thought so too.  They have what’s called Colloidal Silver, these cloths kill MORE bacteria and everything else than even using lysol with NO chemicals.  That alone sold me.  I mean for baby toys that is a life saver. I have espresso cabinets & stainless everywhere in our home, we’ve struggled with streaks ever since we’ve moved in, now I used one damp cloth over it all & it’s streak free.  It may seem to good or too easy, but honestly it’s amazing.  Also I’ve been washing them with the Norwex detergent, & I love it as well, my rags don’t get stinky as fast.  So that’s my love story.  Jill from Norwex is giving away 2 cloths + the detergent to one reader.  Just post me a comment on what you think after you’ve visited her site.  She also will give any reader 10% off any order, just put PM in front of your name.  Check out her site, since I didn’t put all the info in this post.

Ps: I don’t receive any monies or compensation of any kind for any purchases made, so this post is just because it’s truly an amazing product!!

pool party!!

His party was so fun, he had the best time with his friends.  We just invited a few of his best friends and we had all the siblings come too, which makes a nice little group.  The great thing about pool parties, no games needed & the only outfit needed is swim shorts.

[...and a little different bucket of goodies for the girls]

[a group pic with super STAR glasses]

[funny, crazy, massive sugar loaded guests]

It was fun & easy, saving my strength for little Stella’s 1st Birthday.  I love kid parties, SO fun & the squeals & giggles are worth it all!

my sweet little man turns 7

Having a pool party today for the sweet little guy who completely loves everyone, especially his mommy.  He reminds me to be kind, love huge, & don’t forget to pray.  Couldn’t feel more blessed to have him in our lives, what a gift God has trusted us with.  Love you buddy more than I can put in words.  You make everyday feel special, so proud to be your mom.  I know I always say I can’t marry you when you ask, please know, it’s only cause Daddy says no.

Happy Shopping!

a secret garden patio

I LOVE secret places….especially little garden spaces where your hidden from the world…at least until one of the kids discover where you are.  Something about gardens that seem peaceful, inspiring, & things sometimes feel so clear.  Ha!..Can you tell I’m needing some quite peaceful time??? Anyhow, I think I’ve convinced the husb to let me design a little garden nook on the side of our yard…since he’s the labor end of the deal it took some convincing.  Here are a few pics of inspiration I found.  Thinking to keep it simple & modern so it goes well with the house.

[a little blah on the garden front, but I loved the idea of a tree in the mix]

[I really like these pavers]

[bench & foliage = amazing]

I’ve told the husb Jamie Durry has nothing on us!  Our garden spot is small & he’s not up for spending a bunch….so we’ll be creative & simple, but definitely it must inspire.  I’ll post pics when this dream becomes reality!

Regreet Winner!

CONGRATS TO Shelly p, please email me with your address  & I’ll send out your regreet gift pack!

handmade green finds you’ll love

A few things I’m hoping to take home from Etsy.  I love handmade + organic + green=perfect mix!

Lavender Lemonade Lip Balm by  Orange Thyme

I want to try to make lip balm someday, but for now I’ll buy hers….reminds me of simple lazy summer days.

This Sugar Body Scrub, not only would look amazing on my bathroom shelf, but I love a good organic sugar scrub.

Love this Organic Owl Tank, cozy & summer perfect.

Someone needs to have a lil baby girl so I can get this for them.  Little newborn organic elf hat, smile.

I LOVE everything baby, especially soft little cloths for bathing.

Ok it’s not organic, but a handmade LOVE print….& seriously needs to be in Stella’s room.

I know i’ve posted the snack sacks, but these organic lunch bags need to be seen.

A random list of likes I know, but that’s my week, random!  The theme: peaceful, safe, & inspiring….I could use some of that. xx

POM wonderful, but is it?

Ya I have to say it is pretty wonderful! To my surprise they sent me a case of their POM Blueberry Juice.  I’ve written their corporate office so many times complaining about their choice to go to plastic with their tea beverages, I thought for sure they hated me!  I’ve mention why plastic stinks, why I don’t buy it anymore because of the plastic container, why it’s ruining their standards, why people like me will pay extra for glass, also letting them know it made them special…and they still sent me a gift.  Crazy things happen.  Ok, so I love the juice, my whole fam begs for it! I actually made a smoothie with it.  Here is the recipe:

  • 2 oz. freshly squeezed pomegranate juice* or POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice
  • 6 oz. fat-free blueberry yogurt, frozen
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup non-fat milk
  • Handful of crushed ice
Blend up & enjoy!
They have an Fb page & more recipes at POM site.  If you loved the glass jars their tea used to be in, please join me in letting them know here!

i’d work here…

Only if you didn’t get in trouble for making a mess!  Even as tidy as I usually am, this might stress me out….or make me genius, not sure which one. Welcome to an ultra, ultra modern office space.

[the hanging lights are absolutely captivating]

Could you work here or would you even want to work here?
